Wed, Jul. 18th, 2007, 10:14 am Pedantic
I’ve just started reading Eats, Shoots & Leaves. It’s a book about the incorrect usage of punctuation in the written language today and the misinterpretation the incorrect punctuation might cause. I’ve only completed it partly but it seems quite interesting except for the failing attempts of the author at humor. It gets grating at times.
Why am I writing about this? Well as a warning. More than a couple of my friends refer to me as a “Grammar Nazi” and well let this be a warning that I am arming myself further to interrupt and correct you when you make a punctuation error

Wed, Jun. 27th, 2007, 11:48 pm Friendship…
Sometimes some of my close friends have asked if I am committed to the friendship or that what they mean to me. I always feel awkward in such situations because I feel that they’ll feel I’m saying how I feel out of force or without meaning it and instead saying just to answer their question.
On the other side, sometimes when I feel like saying how important someone is to me, I don’t ask my friends of stuff they don’t tell me and so don’t want to be taken wrongly if they are going around with someone. Or I don’t want to be interpreted as trying to say something else.
Because of this, i have stopped myself from talking after starting, deleted completely typed emails and erased such txt msgs.
Oh why so many complications and why do i think so much..

Tue, Jun. 26th, 2007, 11:20 pm Bungee Jumpin
Alrighty.. So I bungee jumped yesterday. But more from the start. We left around 12 and it took us about an hour to find the place. The crowd was fairly thin considering it being the last day and a Sunday. The ticket purchase required us to undergo a medical test - BP check and weight. All that took us about an hour and a half. Then came the long wait for our turn to jump.
Eventually it turned out we would wait for about 7.5, yes seven and a half hours.
Waiting for lunch
But it was not all waste. We had lunch and then waiting for some more time went for a long ride, which considering the improving weather was fabulous. Near the Yellahanka airbase Vikram’s bike ran out of fuel. So we stopped there and to our pleasure discovered a small pond. That and the setting sun made for a great combo. Took lots of pics there.
Chandrahasa about to dive in to the lake.. Taking his acting career too seriously
One of the best pics of the day..
By then we hoped that our turn would have come but nope, we still had to wait for a lot more time.By now we were beginning to lose patience but since we had paid, we could not do anything. Finally at about 8:30 our turn came and we strapped on for the jump. After that it was just thrill as we waited for our turns.
When my chance finally came, i rode up the platform relatively calmly. But once on top, i felt the fear, thrill and rush of jumping the first time.
The crane from which we jumped..
Encouraged by the instructor, i took a deep breath and stepped off. I wanted to jump head first but the platform was swaying too much for me to jump (ah well next time )
Anyway, once i stepped off, the ground rushing up towards me gave me the kick of my life.
It WAS one of the best experiences of my life.
To those in our group who did not jump, I’m sorry for you. You missed an experience to remember.
Now i wanna jump from higher up
More pics on my Zooomr Album
Sorry but the videos are too large to upload.

Sun, Jun. 24th, 2007, 11:36 pm What a rush…
Jumped off a platform about 120 feet high with nothing but an elastic rope tied to my ankles. Yeah, I “bungee jumped” today. And it was one hell of an experience. I’m still feeling the rush of the jump. Went with Chandrahasa, Kiran, Madhavi, Madhu, Mythreyi, Swetha, Satish and Vikram.
Everyone MUST do this once. It is an experience to remember
More details, pics and videos tomorrow. It’s late
Edit: Just noticed the current title of my blog and it takes on an entirely new meaning
Edit 2: Corrected Mythreyi’s spelling

Fri, May. 18th, 2007, 10:49 am Meet
There are so many people (mostly friends - college, school and others) I want to meet but do not have enough time to. With 13 hour workdays, weekdays are impossible. Out of two days over the weekend, most of sunday is reserved for family. That leaves saturday, half of which I spend sleeping.
I need more time. Someone make the days longer please!!!

Thu, Mar. 22nd, 2007, 11:51 pm Nice long trip
With my “joblessness” and becoming an uncle I’m not off to a trip to my sister’s place for my niece’s naming ceremony which is on Sunday.
The name decided upon is Aanya. I do not know the exact dictionary meaning but it pleases me that it is supposed to mean something close to the meaning of my name
Anyway, back to the topic, so I’ll be gone for about 10 days because I’ll be going to visit Al in Pune for 3 days from my sister’s place before I return to start up on a new job (more on that once I return)
Cya all on the other side of the trip
Ps. I will likely have no internet access so will not be able to reply to mails! And the infrequent comments

Yes, I had stated that it will be just another day (wont be visible because the post is private), the birthday turned out NOT to be just another day. Infact it was a great day. My oldest friend surprised when she turned out to be in town (which she pretended she was not) and came home to surprise me.
Later had a lengthy and fun lunch with her, bro and friends at a nice restaurant. And finally in the evening dinner with my elder bro. The day finally topped off with getting to see and play with his daughter who had just returned from Delhi with my sis in law.

Mon, Jan. 15th, 2007, 11:43 pm School Meetup
Yesterday about 7 class-mates from my high school decided to meetup. I was the one who called in all the people and got them to come. Thankfully so many showed up (more than I had expected to turn up)
It turned out to be a very good time as we reminisced school times, caught up with each others and generally chatted and joked about how things used to be in school.
Took a couple of pics of everyone there:

So I had a blast on new years.. Allwin, Sujit, my bro Rish and your’s truly had gone to Goa for the new years celebration. Goa, considered to be the best party spot for new years was on the horizon for a trip for me for quite sometime. So this time, I decided to “Just do it”
Pulled in Al and Sujit and my bro of course was always ready. We departed on the 29th evening and arrived in Goa on the 30th. Met up with my brother in law who stays there and then to his home for an early lunch cum breakfast. From there, we headed out to the Baga beach, one of the most popular beaches in Goa. We spent the day there walking along the beach (having decided not to get into the water on that day but the next) and just watching the huge crowd on the beach. Also climbed up a narrow rocky path to a couple of enclosed beaches.
From Baga, we went for dinner after which we walked to another beach which was within the city of Panjim, Miramar. I was quite tired by then and my leg, having been hurt by a sharp rock, was paining quite badly. So I decided to skip the beach and instead sat in a coffee shop.
From Miramar, we went to one of the many casinos in Goa since the others wanted to check out and experience the casino.
The next day, we visited the Church of St. Patrick Xavier and then went to the Fort Aguada beach. It was here that we entered the sea. And what fun it was. So much that we just did not want to come out. Had it not been for the new years party, I’m pretty sure none of us would have come out of the sea.
From the beach, we went to our hotel for a quick shower and change of clothes and then were on our way back to go for the party. We planned to visit “On the Rocks” a new disc in town on the Baga beach. And what a party it was. A whole lot of fun. Music, booze, good food and dancing! Rish managed to get wasted after having a little too much to drink
We finally returned from the party at 4 am in the morning (or atleast I think it was around then)
On our final day in Goa(1st), Rish and me stayed at my bro in laws house since Rish was still suffering from the effect of the previous night’s partying.. Al and Sujit decided to roam around and explore Goa.
We met back in the evening for our return journey to Bangalore..
The trip photos can be viewed in my Zooomr Album

Fri, Jun. 9th, 2006, 11:17 pm et Finito
So the temple is finally a “temple” (before all these functions, it was just a building) and all the ceremonies and functions to deem it thus are finally done with and over. I attended everyday in the evening and took half a day off today to attend the final function.
Well, I cannot honestly say I took part though because of my disinterest. But I enjoyed meeting up with friends who I had not met in over a long while. Almost 5-6 months or maybe more That was good fun. Plus quite a few relatives had come down especially for this so met them as well.
Now it’s done with and hopefully I can get back to my regular routine, regular schedule and get some serious studying done..
Ps. My mom has gotten me a tiny silver ring and a chain-bracelet which is supposedly “holy”. Seems I’m building up a collection of jewellery what with 3 rings and the bracelet on my left arm

Wed, May. 3rd, 2006, 11:22 pm Sigh!
I was supposed to go for a friends wedding today. Unfortunately I had not booked my travel tickets earlier and when I tried over the weekend and today, there were just no reservations available
And I so wanted to go for the wedding. Well, I wish best of luck to her and hope her life turns out great

I always believe being frank to be advantageous. And with friends, I had always tried to be frank, even if it meant that sometimes I said something harsh, hoping that by saying the truth, I would prevent possible occurance of misunderstanding later.
But due to various reason, people going far(not in terms of physical distance), change in perceptions about people and a general disinterest, I had of late stopped speaking out to friends, not saying what I felt like saying or should say but instead kept it bottled up within myself. Heck have it bottled up even now!
But today, a conversation which started with some irrelevant topic got to the point where I spoke frankly to a friend, spoke about something that had recently bothered me and even pissed me off to an extent. And when I said it out, the reason due to which I had been pissed turned out to be so inconsequential because it actually stemmed from a reaction to something I had myself said, something which I now find extremely distasteful and idiotic. Nevertheless, once I realised the root cause, I realised it was my fault and that immediately turned my irritation to guilt and shame!
But it did do one thing. It cleared up the situation, erased any possible resentment and simmering billigerence and thus prevented any possible ugliness in the future.
And I am extremely glad
Yes, I will not reveal any info, but you know it
